EUROPCAR Car Rental at Keflavik Airport

Keflavik Airport is situated some 2 miles west of Keflavik city center. Signs direct visitors in the arrivals hall to the car rental area and the free shuttle bus that will take them to the some of the car rental offices just down the road from the terminal building. The Europcar service desk is located in the car rentals area in the arrivals hall, tel. +354 425 0300/+3354 461 6000. The desk is open until 1.00 am every day.

The Europcar Car Rental Keflavik Airport fleet includes the Z1, Hyundai I10, Suzuki Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Golf, Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia, and also offers customers 4x4s like the Suzuki Vitara, Dacia Duster, Toyota Rav, Toyota Landcruiser and Kia Sorento.

Optional extras include one-way rentals, where the vehicle can be picked up at one location and dropped off at another, as well as additional drivers, child safety seats, GPS Sat navigation and hotel pick-ups within the city limits free of charge. There is, however, no pick-up service from the airport.

Mobile WiFi with a 3GB allowance can be part of the rental agreement and is able to connect up to 5 devices simultaneously. However, this option is not available with one-way rental agreements.

Europcar also provides car rentals at the nearby Reykjavic Airport.

Driving in Iceland is a little different than, for example, in the UK. Motorists drive on the right-hand side in Iceland. They overtake on the left. Speeding limits are 50km/h in urban areas, 80km/h on gravel roads and 90km/h on other roads.

Iceland offers visitors many fantastic outdoor activities, such as horse-riding and hiking in Landmannalaugar National Park, or whale-watching in Reykjavik, where a boat tour leaves from the Old Harbour. In Reykjavik visitors can enjoy guided tours, some of them catering to gourmets, others to people who are interested in the Icelandic culture and heritage.
