The Avis Car Rental at Keflavik Airport fleet includes the Hyundai I10 and Hyundai I20, the VW Polo, the Suzuki Jimny and Suzuki Vitara, the Kia Sorento and Toyota Landcruiser, the Skoda Octavia station wagon and Mercedes Sprinter 4WD passenger van.

Drivers must be 20 years old to rent a car in Iceland, and 23 to rent a larger vehicle such as an SUV. Depending on the age of the driver, there may be a Young Driver's surcharge or a Senior Driver's surcharge.

Car rentals include unlimited mileage, local taxes and collision damage waiver and theft cover insurance. Optional extras made available at the time of booking are baby and child seats as well as child booster seats, SatNav systems and mobile WiFi with connectivity for up to 5 devices. The latter is not available for one-way rentals.

It is worth noting that Avis also have offices at the nearby Reykjavic Airport.

The Reykjavik City Card offers visitors to Iceland many discounts on restaurant deals and free admission to many of Iceland's best tourist attractions. The City Card is available for 24, 48 and 72 hour periods and starts from 3,800 ISK per adult, and 1,600 ISK for each child. It can be purchased at tourist information offices, one of which is located in Harpa Concert Hall on the ground floor.

Reykjavik is located some 50 km distance, about a 40 minute drive, from Keflavik Airport. The city offers visitors a wide range of attractions, including Culture House, which displays exhibits charting Icelandic heritage and culture. Culture House is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.

Reykjavik Art Museum is housed in three large buildings located in central Reykjavik near the Old Harbour. The largest of theses buildings, Hafnarhus, exhibits contemporary art. The museum is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
