Flight Arrivals at Keflavik Airport

Keflavik Airport arrivals are handled in the main airport terminal building. Signage directs passengers to the car rental meet and greet point, which is adjacent to the airport information desk. Some car rental companies also use white boards with their logo to collect passengers when they arrive. A shuttle service takes passengers to the various car rental offices which are close by.

Lost and found and currency exchange and VAT refunds are located on the first floor. There are also various coffee bars and snack bars in the main building. On the ground level for example there is Joe and the Juice, 10-11 Supermarket, Dunkin' Donuts and Ginger health foods. An ATM machine is located in the baggage reclaim area.

The taxi stands and bus stops are located just outside the main exit. There are two shuttle services available that take passengers to Reykjavik. One is the Flybus (+354 580 5400) and the other is Airport Direct (+354 497 8000). The Flybus leaves every 35 to 40 minutes after the arrival of flights. There is a screen in the arrivals area that tells passengers when the next bus service will leave.

Flybus stops at BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik. People with an advance ticket can also be dropped off at their hotel or guesthouse or designated bus stop, although they will have to change to a smaller shuttle bus to do so.

The Airport Direct service takes passengers to the Airport Direct Reykjavik Terminal which is located at Skógarhlið 10. The bus stops only along route at Hamraborg, Kópavogur. When booking a ticket in advance, passengers can specify their desired drop-off point, choosing to be either dropped off at their hotel or designated nearest bus stop.

Keflavik city is only a short distance from the airport. The city offers visitors a wide range of coffee shops and restaurants, retail outlets and other amenities, as well as accommodation. Reykjavik is located 50 km distance from the airport, the journey takes around 40 minutes. Iceland's capital has many tourist attractions that are suitable for families, among them the Saga Museum, which gives visitors an insight into the Viking Age and history of Iceland.

Tourist information offices in the city sell the Reykjavik City Card, which is available for periods of 24, 48 and 72 hours. The card allows visitors to enjoy free bus rides in the city, and free admission to many of the city's museums and tourist attractions. One of the tourist information offices is located in Harpa Concert Hall, on the ground floor.
